To make solar energy systems even more affordable, the Federal Government offers financial incentives through solar rebates and other programs. Roof Top Solar will help you access these rebates by providing a point of sale discount. We then claim this portion back after your installation is complete. We will process all of the paperwork, all we require form our customers is a few signatures.

Federal incentives & Financial Incentives for solar power

The federal government offers financial incentives for solar systems both small and large under the Renewable Energy Certificates (REC’s) through Financial Incentives and other schemes.

Rooftop Solar will help you to access these Financial Incentives by providing a point of sale discount. We will then claim back this portion after your installation is completed.  We can process the required paperwork for you once you provide the relevant information. REC’s are provided by the Federal Government to reduce the overall cost of the system as a way of thanking you for reducing Greenhouse Gases and installing Solar Panels.

Rooftop Solar will organise the paperwork for these Financial Incentives so that the value of the REC’s is applied as a discount which reduces the direct costs of your solar system.

State Incentives

The Victorian State Government, under Solar Victoria, is providing either Interest Free Loans or a Rebate on eligible Solar panel systems after July 1st, 2019. Again, we will help you through the application process beginning with apply for eligibility and upon acceptance, installation of your system and then claiming the rebate on your behalf.  The rebate will be paid to us and you will receive an invoice from us with the reduced amount.

As part of the Solar Homes program a loan scheme will commence for solar PV systems for owner-occupiers from July 2019. This will allow Victorians to access the benefits of renewable energy at no up-front cost. Eligible households will be able to install solar panels on their home, saving households hundreds of dollars a year on their energy bills.

Renters will be able to access an interest-free loan for a solar PV system when the renters program commences in mid-2019.

Households will be required to pay back the amount of the loan over four years, which will assist Victorians with budgeting for their cost of living.

STC’S

STCs, or Small-scale Technology Certificates, are a tradable commodity that are attached to eligible installations of certain renewable energy systems such as solar panels, solar water heaters and heat pumps.

Solar hot water systems can reduce – or displace – the amount of electricity your household requires from the grid. Rather than using traditional electricity, solar hot water systems use the sun to generate power to heat your water.

The number of Megawatt hours of electricity created will determine the number of STCs you receive. A bigger system will naturally garner more of these certificates as it has a bigger capacity and means less electricity needs to be taken from the grid.

The number of these certificates you will be entitled to can also vary depending on your geographic location and the size of your system. Your system may also be eligible for Solar Credits which multiples the number of STC’s the system can receive. Each of our solar systems has an STC value depending on how much power it generates, and this value is what determines your point of sale discount.
